Northern Lights Hunt by Minibus from Reykjavík

Leave the lights of Reykjavík behind after dark and head into the countryside with a local guide who follows the aurora and cloud forecasts all evening. There is no fixed route: the minibus goes wherever the sky is clearest and darkest that night, from lava fields and lakesides to open farmland below the mountains.

Once you arrive, step outside, let your eyes adjust and wait for the sky to come alive. Your guide explains what causes the northern lights, how to read the activity and how to set up your phone or camera to capture them. Warm up between sightings with a hot drink on board.
