1-hour Buggy Express – Family buggy

Step into a world of black sand, dramatic coastlines, and untamed beauty — all from the comfort of your 4-seater family buggy.

This 1-hour guided buggy tour begins at the base near Mýrdalsjökull glacier, where you'll receive a thorough safety briefing and learn to handle your all‑terrain family buggy. You will then ride across the breathtaking Sólheimasandur black sand plains, with sweeping views of Mýrdalsjökull glacier on one side and the roaring Atlantic waves on the other, leading you to one of Iceland’s most iconic sights: the DC-3 plane wreck.

Abandoned since 1973, the haunting remains of the U.S. Navy aircraft lie in stark contrast to the surrounding volcanic desert — a truly unforgettable photo opportunity and a must-see on the South Coast.

Then, rev your buggy for a scenic return along the coastline, crossing more shallow rivers before heading back to base, heart pounding with adrenaline and memories carrying the essence of Iceland’s untamed beauty.

Perfect for families or small groups, this tour blends rugged adventure with comfort and style. Cruise across the surreal black sands, feel the thrill of the open landscape, and enjoy a smooth, scenic ride led by expert local guides.

Whether it’s your first time in a buggy or you’re a seasoned explorer, this elegant twist on a rugged Icelandic adventure is designed to delight.
